Your favorite music festival has returned to Austin—Austin City Limits Music Festival! The Austin City Limits Music Festival is an annual music festival held in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on two consecutive three-day weekends. Inspired by the KLRU/PBS music series of the same name, the festival is produced by Austin-based company C3 Presents, which also produces Lollapalooza. Check it out this Friday, October 11th!
The ACL Music Festival has eight stages where musical groups from genres including rock, indie, country, folk, electronic and hip hop perform for fans. The concerts continue from 10 AM to 10 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the festival, with various stages spread out in the park. Approximately 450,000 people attend the festival each year.
In addition to the music performances, there are food and drinks, an art market, a children’s area for families, and other activities for attendees. The festival also has various water fill stations for patrons, as well as plenty of bathrooms to support the large crowd. The 2019 edition will feature headlining performances by Guns N' Roses, Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino, Cardi B, Lizzo, and Billie Eilish.
What is Austin City Limits? It’s the longest-running music program in television history, the only television show to have been awarded the National Medal of the Arts, and was recently recognized by Time magazine as one of the 10 most influential music programs of all time. It’s a show that’s presented a huge variety of musical styles and genres, hosting everyone from Willie Nelson to BB King to Foo Fighters and a show that’s been enshrined as a Rock & Roll Landmark in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
